Julian Urquidez, the father of Baylor Bears signee JP Urquidez, ripped into the school via Twitter on Wednesday to voice his concerns over the program’s handling of its recruiting class in light of the recent scandal.

Urquidez is one of seven recruits to request a release from a national letter of intent. He and others were set to enroll at the school on Monday but held off because they are hoping to attend other schools.

In a scathing note, Julian Urquidez expresses his feeling of betrayal that the school did not disclose that they were investigating the sexual assault allegations. He concludes that not only did the school let down the victims of sexual assault whom they did not protect, but also the incoming freshmen who would have been saddled with this scandal despite having nothing to do with it.

An investigation concluded that the school either ignored or did not do enough to respond to multiple claims of rape/sexual assault from 2009-2016. Two football players were convicted of rape during that time.

JP Urquidez is a four-star offensive lineman from Copperas Cove, Texas. The offensive tackle also was looking at Texas and Texas A&M before deciding on Baylor, so it’s possible he may try to enroll at one of those schools.
