It’s been an up and down season thus far for the Florida Gators, but Saturday’s game against Missouri was rock bottom.
Late in the third quarter, the Gators were down 42-0, in The Swamp. I don’t remember ever seeing Florida down 42-0 at home. Apparently, neither has Warren Sapp.
The lopsided score was enough for fans around Ben Hill Griffin Stadium to break out in a chorus of “Fire Muschamp.”
After an 11-2 season under Will Muschamp in 2012, the Gators went 4-8 last year and didn’t make an appearance in a bowl game for the first time since 1990. For the University of Florida, that’s unacceptable. So is getting blown out at home. The fans chanting for Muschamp to be fired may get their wish sooner rather than later. I doubt anyone would be surprised.
