During the second quarter of Saturday’s game between Miami and Georgia Tech, the Yellow Jackets pulled off a successful fake punt attempt as Ryan Rodwell tucked the ball and ran for 10 yards on 4th and 5.
The first down was nice, although Georgia Tech punted for real a few plays later to end the drive. The conclusion of the run is the noteworthy part. I’m pretty sure when Rodwell took off he didn’t think the result would be a WWE move, of which he was in the unfortunate position.
Punters, as they say, are people too. And in this case, Ryan Rodwell was treated as any other Yellow Jacket player with a helmet and pads by the Miami Hurricanes special teams unit.
