We already know that Jim McElwain is a candidate for the Florida job, but now we’ve hit second-level indicators of interest.
Florida AD Jeremy Foley spent a good part of the day meeting with McElwain at the coach’s home on Tuesday. He reportedly had Florida’s contract negotiator with him.

Matt Stephens, who has been covering the story, also says he has it on good authority that McElwain would take the Florida job if offered.
I have it on good authority that if Jeremy Foley offers Jim McElwain the job at Florida, he won't think twice about it.

It’s also notable that McElwain only follows 162 people on Twitter and one of his most recent follows was Florida recruiting analyst Corey Bender.
The big challenge with hiring the Colorado State coach is negotiating the $7.5 million buyout McElwain has with the school. Perhaps Florida could get creative in figuring out how to pay that amount. It sure seems like this is the guy they want as their coach and that McElwain wants to take the job.
