Johnny Manziel has 1 big goal for his football future

Johnny Manziel derailed his NFL career by not taking it seriously enough, but the former Heisman Trophy winner still wants to be around the game of football.

Manziel recently revealed that he will take part in the Fan Controlled Football league again this season. He said that will give him an opportunity to stay connected to the game, and he told TMZ over the weekend that he is hoping to rejoin the Texas A&M in some capacity as well.

“I don’t think I’m the same player I used to be,” Manziel admitted. “I think I still have flashes, but I’m looking at what’s next in my life and I want sports and football to be something that is gonna be a mainstay in my life for a long time.

“Now, it’s figuring out where exactly that’s gonna be — whether its continuing to work with the FCF or something I’m really interested in as well is going back to Texas A&M and being a part of my school, or the program or whatever it is.”

Manziel became a household name at Texas A&M, where he was the starting quarterback in 2012 and 2013. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2012. The 29-year-old has since admitted that one of his biggest regrets is not taking his second season as a starter serious enough.

“I miss my school, I miss College Station, I miss the feeling of those great times that I got to have when I was in college, and our new athletic director at Texas A&M, Ross Bjork, is a beauty of an individual and an awesome person,” Manziel added.

It’s unclear if Texas A&M would want to make Manziel an official part of the program. He has put the school in a tough position by openly admitting to lying about an autograph scandal and other controversies. Manziel will always be a legend in College Station, but we doubt he’ll ever coach the Aggies or anything like that.
