Watch: Kentucky’s Lynn Bowden returns punt for TD in Citrus Bowl
Kentucky has had one of its best football seasons in school history this year, and the good times continued to roll early in their Citrus Bowl matchup against Penn State on Tuesday.
With his team leading 3-0 late in the first quarter, Kentucky sophomore wide receiver Lynn Bowden Jr. ripped off a 58-yard score on a punt return.

As Jon Hale of the Courier Journal pointed out, that was only Bowden’s fourth punt return of the season. He has taken two of them to the house.

Bowden has been a big contributor in Kentucky’s passing game with 62 catches for 661 yards and five touchdowns, which is probably why he doesn’t get more work in the return game. For that play at least, Wildcats head coach Mark Stoops made the right choice putting him in.
