Lane Kiffin was furious over Ole Miss fans storming field too early
Ole Miss fans prematurely stormed the field during their team’s upset win over Georgia on Saturday, and Lane Kiffin was not happy about it.
Georgia was trailing Ole Miss 28-10 and had a 4th-and-20 from their own 15-yard line with 27 seconds remaining at Vaught–Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss. Carson Beck completed a pass to Arian Smith, who did not get to the first-down marker. That led to a turnover on downs with 16 seconds left.
Ole Miss still needed to kneel out the remaining 16 seconds. Rebels fans could not wait to begin their celebration, however, and they stormed the field before the game ended. Kiffin was shown on the ESPN broadcast looking furious and appeared to shout, “This is f–ing ridiculous!”

The fans were eventually cleared off the field so Ole Miss could take a knee, which allowed the real celebration to commence.
Ole Miss improved to 8-2 with the win and is now squarely in the College Football Playoff hunt. They entered Saturday’s game ranked No. 16 in the nation and have games remaining against Florida and Ole Miss.
You can understand why Rebels fans were so fired up after their team knocked off No. 2 Georgia, but they should have known that a turnover on downs with 16 seconds remaining was not the end of the game.
