Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers blew out Dabo Swinney’s Clemson team in Week 1, but there is plenty of drama swirling in Baton Rouge.
The former NFL players going to college have caused quite a stir, and on Tuesday, things intensified when the SEC filed a lawsuit and is now scheduled to meet Thursday in an effort to possibly expel LSU from the conference.
After that news surfaced, John Kennedy, a Senator in the state of Louisiana, sent a strong message warning the SEC what would happen if LSU were to be kicked out of the conference.
“I’ve got rocks in my driveway that are smarter than that,” Kennedy said. “They’re not going to throw LSU out of the SEC. Let me tell you something, I and a lot of other people in the United States Congress will be on them like a hobo on a ham sandwich. LSU hasn’t done anything wrong. It’s called a court of law.”
Kennedy wasn’t the only one to voice his pleasure. Bill Cassidy, another Louisiana Senator, also expressed frustration and said this has to be applied “consistently.”

LSU brought in several players who were on NFL rosters during the summer, including Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris, both of whom played last season at Ole Miss with Kiffin. However, neither played in LSU’s opening game against Clemson.
Right now, this situation is far from over, and if the SEC does agree to expel LSU, it might get very ugly.
