Report: LSU safety Jalen Mills punched woman, knocked her out
LSU defensive back Jalen Mills was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged with second-degree battery. According to a probable cause report obtained by WAFB in Louisiana, Mills has been accused of punching a woman in the face at his apartment complex last month.
The report stated that the victim, who was identified as a 5-foot-3, 113-pound woman, knocked on the door to Mills’ apartment because she was looking for her friend. Mills allegedly confronted her and closed the door in her face, and she walked away when no one answered her second knock. The woman claimed she then heard someone say something, at which point she turned around and was punched in the face.
A person who witnessed the incident gave the same report as the victim.
The report went on to say that the woman “fell to the pavement and was briefly unconscious” after she was allegedly punched by Mills. She suffered a laceration on her lip that required four stitches.
No bond has been set for Mills. The LSU Sports Information Department announced on Wednesday that Mills has been suspended from the football team indefinitely. Mills was the Tigers third-leading tackler last season with 67 tackles. He was named an All-American cornerback as a freshman in 2012 before moving to safety last year.
