ESPN will have a much different looking college football studio team for the upcoming season.
Out are Rece Davis, Lou Holtz and Mark May. In their places will be Adnan Virk, Joey Galloway and Danny Kanell.
Sports Business Journal reported the news and says Virk, Galloway and Kanell will be hosting during halftime and after games on ESPN this college football season. Davis, Holtz and May had been the team since 2005.
Holtz retired in April, while Davis was promoted to the host of the popular “GameDay” pregame show.
May, who had been on the show since 2001, has been reassigned to another college football show featuring John Saunders and Mack Brown.
May’s credibility as an analyst has been called into question many times. From making hypocritical claims to rankling Ohio State fans regularly, many had tired of him, and it seems like ESPN is listening to the public by making the switch. It was a bad look for the network to have one of their premier analysts so negatively targeting one of the top programs in the nation.
