It’s safe to say Miami coach Mark Richt lost himself for a moment during the Orange Bowl, and he’s now looking back with some regret.
Richt completely lost his cool during Miami’s Orange Bowl loss, yelling at and grabbing a referee in a rage over what he believed to be several questionable calls or non-calls. While not extremely repentant after the game, Richt was a bit more apologetic after seeing the footage of his outburst.
After seeing TV copy of our game I want to apologize for my language and the putting of my hands on the official and my staff. I did not show the proper respect to the authorities of our game.

Richt made the right move apologizing. Being fired up about some of the officiating is understandable, but his reaction crossed a line.
