Maryland denies reports that Kevin Anderson is out as athletic director

The Kevin Anderson saga at Maryland is taking another strange turn.

Amidst reports earlier in the day on Saturday that Anderson was out as their athletic director, the university released a statement denying those reports and declaring that Anderson was still their AD.

University Statement: Kevin Anderson is UMD Athletic Director. Media reports to the contrary are false.

Anderson, who has spent the last seven years in the position, was said to have been fired after pursuing the AD job at another prominent university. But now it sounds like Maryland has some more explaining to do in a year that has already seen them plagued by other issues, including poor attendance.
