Memphis is now 7-1 this season and was lucky to avoid a loss on Saturday night against Tulsa.
The Golden Hurricane drove from their 25 to the Memphis 12 over the final four minutes of their game and had a 29-yard field goal attempt as time expired. Unfortunately for them, kicker Jacob Rainey hooked his kick.

The missed field goal probably should not have come as a surprise. Rainey was 2/5 on field goals in the game. He also missed from 40 twice (once on a block) and converted from 32 and 26.
Memphis holding on for a win sets up for an exciting matchup next weekend between the Tigers and 8-0 SMU.
