Miami TV station pulls story about Mark Walton impersonating police officer
Miami TV station WPLG pulled a story about Hurricanes running back Mark Walton allegedly impersonating a police officer after the Miami PD disputed it.
Walton was arrested early Saturday morning for DUI and driving on a suspended license. The police report said he had slurred speech and nearly fell when exiting his vehicle. Last season’s team leader with 10 touchdowns, Walton was suspended indefinitely.
However, the story does not end there.
ABC affiliate WPLG says there was another case reported to police on Friday about a woman who says a man impersonating a cop pulled her over on Thursday and assaulted her. The vehicle mentioned in that report was a white Dodge Charger, which is the same kind of car towed the night of Walton’s DUI, per WPLG’s Liane Morejon.
It is interesting to note the complainant mentions a possible white Dodge Charger; same type of car towed the nite of Walton's DUI.

She also reports that a phone number the cop impersonator gave the woman he groped came back as one registered to a Mark Walton.
Complainant gave cops a phone # for the person who she says stopped her/posed as cop. Name that comes back registered to that #: Mark Walton

WPLG published a story about this but Miami PD says they were wrong to connect Walton to the officer impersonation case.

Bottom line: Walton is still facing potential charges for DUI and driving on a suspended license, he is still suspended from the Miami program, but at present it would be wrong to connect him with the impersonating an officer case.
