Michael Penix Jr. had awesome tribute for his team during Heisman ceremony
Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. may not have won the Heisman Trophy, but he probably won some brownie points from his teammates and coaches.
Penix was one of four Heisman finalists alongside Oregon QB Bo Nix, LSU QB Jayden Daniels, and Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.
Penix made sure to look dapper for the Heisman Trophy Ceremony held at Lincoln Center in New York City, N.Y. His outfit was a sleek purple and white ensemble that paid tribute to Washington’s school colors.
But the tribute went beyond just the colors. Penix showed reporters and photographers the inside of his coat, revealing the names of his teammates and coaches stitched within the fabric.

The Washington football star ultimately lost the Heisman Trophy to LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels. But Penix could at least make a solid case for best outfit of the evening.
Penix even gave a shoutout to the suit designers who helped him credit his teammates.

Penix had a legitimate case for the Heisman Trophy after an undefeated 13-0 season in Washington. The 23-year-old led the country in passing yards with 4,218 in total. Penix’s 33 passing touchdowns last season tied him for third among all QBs, just behind fellow finalists Daniels and Nix.
Penix may not have gone home with any Heisman hardware, but he does have something each of the other finalists do not — a chance at a national title.
