Standout Minnesota Golden Gophers quarterback Drake Lindsey was arrested Friday for allegedly using a fake ID to go to a bar and drink while underage.
Lindsey, 20, was arrested in his native Fayetteville, Ark. after staff at YeeHawg, a local bar, suspected he was using a fake ID, per ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg. Lindsey admitted to police that he had used the fake ID and consumed alcohol before arriving at the bar.
Lindsey was eventually released after posting $470 bond. Minnesota said in a statement that the situation would be addressed internally.

As a freshman last season, Lindsey looked like one of the top young quarterbacks in the country. The 6’5″ quarterback threw for 2,382 yards and 18 touchdowns with six interceptions, and led the Golden Gophers to an 8-5 season. He had even started to garner some NFL buzz after just one year of college football.
Lindsey’s first hearing relating to the charge will be in Fayetteville on June 1.
