Missouri QB Beau Pribula suffered gruesome injury against Vanderbilt

Missouri QB Beau Pribula suffering an ankle injury

Missouri saw its season potentially go up in flames Saturday with the injury to quarterback Beau Pribula.

No. 10 Vanderbilt and No. 15 Missouri were tied 3-3 early in the third quarter inside FirstBank Stadium in Nashville, Tenn. Facing 4th-and-goal at the Commodores’ two-yard line, the Tigers had Pribula run up the gut to try to steal a touchdown.

Pribula got swallowed up by Vanderbilt’s defensive line. D-lineman Joshua Singh held onto Pribula’s left leg to prevent the rusher from getting the extra yard needed. With Pribula’s leg pinned to the ground, two more Vandy players tackled him from the side. The result did not look good for Pribula, who had to be carted off the field in an aircast.

Some speculated that Pribula may have suffered a fracture after the play. Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz told reporters after the game that his QB did not break any bones, but did suffer an ankle injury that “had to be popped back in.”

Drinkwitz added that the team does not have a timetable for Pribula’s return but predicted “it could be a while.” With just four games left on Missouri’s regular season slate, the injury could potentially keep Pribula out for the rest of the year.

Pribula finished 9/14 for 68 yards as Missouri lost 17-10 in his absence. The defeat dropped the Tigers’ record to 6-2.
