Ohio State fans were furious after the Buckeyes’ 24-14 loss to the Miami Hurricanes in their College Football Playoff game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Wednesday night, over what they felt was a missed call.
Miami was leading 17-14 with 3:57 left in the game and had a 3rd-and-3 situation. Carson Beck ended up throwing a completion for the first down. Buckeyes fans were furious that no penalty was called on Malachi Toney, who had clearly lined up offsides on the play.
WOW: OHIO STATE FANS ARE EXTREMELY ANGRY THAT THE REFS MISSED AN OBVIOUS OFFENSIVE OFFSIDE PENALTY ON MIAMI.

Malachi Toney was very obviously offside.
No calls insane.

Had an offsides penalty been called, Miami would have been pushed back five yards. Instead, the completion stood. The Hurricanes continued their drive and continued to use up the clock to the point that Ohio State let Miami walk in for a touchdown with 55 seconds left. They went on to win by 10 points, meaning the missed penalty was a big deal. That’s why Buckeyes fans were pointing to it as a big missed call.
