Oklahoma has a prominent linebacker on its team who is unafraid to rattle opponents and speak his mind. Does that sound familiar?
No, Eric Striker is not related to Brian Bosworth, but he has a few similar characteristics.
The senior linebacker was asked after practice Tuesday about Oklahoma’s upcoming game at Tennessee on Saturday. Specifically he was asked whether he gets “jacked up” to play against an SEC school, given that he’s played so well in his school’s last two meetings against teams from that conference. He delivered a great quote in response.
“I don’t know why people blow gas up their a– all the time,” Striker said via The Oklahoman. “I don’t understand why.
“SEC, they’ve got this, they got that. What you don’t understand is, you’ve gotta get it done in between the lines. That’s all that matters. So who’s the better team when the whistle blows in between the lines? That’s all I care about.
“I hope the SEC players don’t let it go to their head because that’s how you get beat. I look forward to it. Gas ‘em up. Just bring ‘em right back down to earth.”

Striker was a first-team all conference selection last year and third-team All-American. This guy can play. If I were Tennessee, I’d be on high alert for No. 19 on the field. He’ll probably be looking to take off Josh Dobbs’ head the way he did Case McCoy of years back.
