The Oregon Ducks have secured their quarterback for the 2024 season with Bo Nix set to graduate.
Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel announced Saturday that he will be playing for the Ducks in 2024. Gabriel, who started his college career at UCF, has one year of eligibility remaining.

Gabriel is one of the most accomplished quarterbacks Oregon could have landed to replace the outgoing Nix. He threw for 3,660 yards, 30 touchdowns, and six interceptions with the Sooners in 2023, and added another 12 scores on the ground. His decision to join Oregon is not a huge surprise, as the Ducks were always seen as the favorite to land him once he entered the transfer portal.
Interestingly, it sounds like Gabriel was essentially forced out of Oklahoma, as he would have been made to compete with highly-touted freshman Jackson Arnold for the starting quarterback job in 2024. He will face no such competition at Oregon, where he will be QB1 immediately.
