Pac-12 school in the lead to land Dillon Gabriel?
Dillon Gabriel is one of the top quarterbacks available via the transfer portal, and there may be one school already in the lead to land him for the 2024 season.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Tuesday that Gabriel is expected to visit Oregon soon. Additionally, Thamel named the Ducks as the favorite for Gabriel.
On Monday, 247 Sports had named USC and Mississippi State as contenders to land Gabriel, in addition to Oregon.
The Ducks will be losing Bo Nix after this season and seem to have the jump on the competition with Gabriel.
The southpaw quarterback has been in college for five years. He spent 2019-2021 with UCF and then 2022-2023 with Oklahoma. This season, Gabriel passed for 3,660 yards, 30 touchdowns and 6 interceptions while leading the Sooners to a 10-2 record.

Oregon has been one of the top Pac-12 programs since 2000. They have 14 double-digit win seasons including the 2000 season. Not including the shortened 2020 season, Oregon has produced four straight double-digit win seasons. The team has gone 21-5 in two years under new head coach Dan Lanning.
