Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald has hilariously mangled response to critics
Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald is not really interested in hearing from his critics, as he informed us in a hilarious way on Monday.
During his Monday press conference, Fitzgerald addressed critics of his playcalling. He invited them to send him an email at, and we quote, “hashtag I don’t care.”
“I understand there are 40,000 experts on Twitter that can call plays for me. My email address is hashtag I don’t care.” – Pat Fitzgerald pic.twitter.com/LaOY9NPfPj

We’re guessing Fitzgerald knows this is not how email addresses work. He’s probably missed a few important messages if that’s what he thinks of it. The coach does maintain an active Twitter account, so he’s at least familiar with that whole thing.
As for the criticism, well, Fitzgerald seems willing to take it when it’s fair. Maybe he’s just a bit cranky this week. Presumably you can try to cheer him up by sending supportive messages to hashtag I don’t care, too.
