Watch: Referee bloodied after collision in West Virginia game

Referee Al Green

Referee Al Green was bloodied after a collision during the second quarter of the West Virginia-Oklahoma game on Friday night.

West Virginia had the ball for a first down trailing 28-21 to the Sooners. Mountaineers quarterback Will Grier was scrambling and was pushed out of bounds, right into Green.

Green got knocked down and was bleeding on the side of his face:

Green was tended to by a trainer on the sideline while the game continued. He’s a tough guy for taking that hit and getting up like a champ. Let’s hope the injury was not serious; we’ve seen other football refs break bones on hits.
