How dominant were the Michigan Wolverines throughout most of the 2016 season? Just ask a local steakhouse that was offering discounts based their margin of victory.
Ruth’s Chris steakhouse in Ann Arbor ran a promotion last year in which they gave customers a discount equal to the amount of points Michigan beat their opponents by. For example, a 30-20 victory would result in a 10 percent discount for diners. As Jessica Haynes of MLive.com discovered, the promotion is no longer being offered.
“Thank you for inquiring about the Score Big promotion of 2016. Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Ann Arbor is not doing that promotion again,” a representative for the restaurant said.
That’s really not a surprise, especially since Ruth’s Chris was forced to clarify the terms of the promotion last year after Michigan absolutely demolished one opponent.
With the way Jim Harbaugh’s team looked early on in 2016, there were some questions about Ruth’s Chris possibly having to give away free meals. That was never going to happen, but you can understand why they decided to make the discount a one time thing.
