The Texas Longhorns have now lost three games, and the third was the worst yet. The Longhorns lost to TCU on Saturday, giving up 37 points in the process.
That comes a week after Texas narrowly survived against Kansas, giving up 48 points to the unranked Jayhawks. Coach Tom Herman didn’t mince words about the team’s recent defensive performance, admitting that the Longhorns are simply “not good” right now.
Herman on the defense: "We're not good. And we need to be better. You know, I think the off week will help. We've got to do a better job as coaches. The guys that are out there, we gotta get them ready to play. We've got to make plays and put them in position to do so."

Texas has given up 31.5 points per game this season. The Longhorns still have two away games against ranked opponents to go this season, so it doesn’t exactly get a lot easier. It doesn’t help that they’ve been plagued by undisciplined play, either. It needs to get sorted out if the Longhorns don’t want to lose four or five games this season.
