Tosh Lupoi expected to be promoted to Alabama DC

Tosh Lupoi is expected to be promoted to Alabama defensive coordinator, according to a report.

AL.com’s Matt Zenitz reported on Tuesday that Lupoi will be promoted to defensive coordinator and be the defense’s play-caller. He would be replacing Jeremy Pruitt, who took the Tennessee head coaching job. Lupoi had been the Crimson Tide’s co-defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach.

Lupoi joined the Tide as a defensive analyst in 2014 before joining the staff the following year.

Lupoi is widely recognized as a fantastic recruiter. A former assistant at Cal and Washington, he was investigated by the NCAA for allegedly paying a recruit but was eventually cleared.
