UNLV coach Tony Sanchez cursed out UCLA for passing late (Video)
No controversy has come out of it, but it was pretty clear that UNLV head coach Tony Sanchez was ticked at the disrespect by UCLA during Saturday night’s matchup between the teams.
UCLA was up 37-0 in the fourth quarter and decided to put backup quarterback Jerry Neuheisel and some other backups into the game to get work. Rather than simply running out the clock, the Bruins had Neuheisel run the offense and attempt passes so he could get practice. They even threw the ball up 37-3 with under two minutes left in the game, which didn’t sit well with Sanchez, who could be seen cursing at UCLA after the play:
Despite Sanchez being upset, he kept his cool and the handshake with Jim Mora after the game was fine. He also exchanged pleasantries with UCLA QB Josh Rosen, whom he faced in high school.
Though Mora didn’t take heat from Sanchez, he did hear it from the media after OL Tavita Halalilo suffered a broken ankle during garbage time in the final minute.
