Hurricane Matthew had a major impact on college football games scheduled on Saturday that were in its path. Some were postponed. While the game between Notre Dame and NC State wasn’t among them, the effects of the storm were definitely felt.

Rain poured down on Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, leaving the field drenched.

As a result of the weather, the start of the second half was delayed.

There was also a voluntary evacuation issued to fans, who were notified they would be allowed re-entry into the stadium by showing their ticket.

The game was, understandably, a sloppy one with NC State coming out on top 10-3. Notre Dame, which was ranked No. 9 in the preseason Coaches Poll is now 2-4 on the season. NC State is 4-1.
