Will Muschamp unloads on media for inaccurate reporting
Will Muschamp went off on several local media outlets for their inaccurate reporting regarding the suspensions of Florida’s players for the season opening game against Toledo on Saturday.
On Friday night, the Palm Beach Post, Gator Country, and the Gainesville Sun all reported that Loucheiz Purifoy, Darious Cummings, Latroy Pittman, Quinteze Williams, Antonio Morrison, and Jay-nard Bostwick were suspended for the game. That would make six Gators suspended for the season opener. But hold on a second, Bostwick was not suspended and was in uniform for the game.
So it was really five players suspended, not six. Got that? And for that error, Muschamp decided to haul off on the local media for their breach of trust and terrible reporting. And now he gets to threaten to revoke access from them.
Seriously, he just seemed like a guy upset that the media found out a few of his players failed drug tests when that’s the sort of thing that’s supposed to go unreported. I’m guessing that’s why he was so ticked. The Palm Beach Post later corrected their story.
Either way, like Dr. Saturday said, Muschamp came pretty close to pulling a Mike Gundy, which is always fun.
