Zach Smith takes aim at Ohio State investigation in tweet
Zach Smith took aim at the Ohio State internal investigation in a tweet sent on Thursday night.
Smith continues to fiercely defend himself against allegations that he abused his ex-wife Courtney. He also was critical of the internal investigation in a somewhat incoherent tweet sent Thursday night.
Can’t wait 2 disclose the 2.5 hr “investigative” interview I gave 2 the people OSU employed 2 find out if Cch Meyer / Gene Smith did anything wrong… Questions were bizarre & VERY clear they weren’t investigating ANYTHING they were supposed to be… Investigating media backlash.

Smith was arrested for allegedly assaulting his then-wife Courtney in 2009 and 2015, though no charges were filed. He was fired by Ohio State last month after news of a protective order being filed against him was made public.
In addition to the assault allegations he has faced from Courtney, the investigation revealed that Smith’s trip to a strip club in 2014 led to a warning from Urban Meyer; that Smith ordered thousands of dollars of sex toys to his office; had a sexual affair with a subordinate; and engaged in other unprofessional behavior, such as taking a picture of his genitals at the White House.
Smith’s attorney has blamed Courtney’s “vengeance” for causing these issues for Ohio State.
