49ers sign son of team legend
The San Francisco 49ers have signed a player who will be very familiar to their fan base.
The Niners on Saturday signed Terique Owens as an undrafted free agent. As you may have figured, Terique is the son of former 49ers receiver Terrell Owens. Like his dad, Terique also plays wide receiver.
Missouri State WR Terique Owens, son of Terrell, is signing with the #49ers as an undrafted free agent, source says.

Owens had worked out for the 49ers at their local pro day a few weeks ago (Owens is from Northern California).

Owens had 46 catches for 765 yards and 4 touchdowns over three seasons at Missouri State (2021-2023). He is listed at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, and he began his career at Florida Atlantic.
Owens’ father was a third-round pick by the 49ers in 1996 out of Tennessee Chattanooga. T.O. played eight seasons for San Francisco from 1996-2003. He had five 1,000-yard seasons for the Niners and led the league in touchdown catches twice while he was a member of the team. Owens later went on to play for the Eagles, Cowboys, Bills and Bengals.
