Another brutal Aaron Rodgers stat goes viral
Aaron Rodgers was supposed to fix the quarterback problem the New York Jets have had for the better part of the last decade, but evidence continues to pile up that the former MVP has made it worse.
Rodgers had a decent game in the Jets’ 28-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on Sunday. He finished an efficient 22/29 for 189 yards and 2 touchdowns, but he was unable to put together a late field goal drive with 46 seconds remaining.
Following the loss, which was New York’s seventh in their last eight games, a brutal stat about Rodgers’ tenure with the Jets went viral:
Winning % as Jets starting QB:
Zach Wilson .364
Sam Darnold .342
Aaron Rodgers .273— Steve Palazzolo (@StevePalazzolo_) November 17, 2024
The Jets are 3-8 with Rodgers as their starting quarterback, not including Week 1 last year. Though New York won that game, Rodgers played only a few snaps before he suffered a torn Achilles.
As it stands, Rodgers has a worse winning percentage with the Jets than Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson had as the team’s starting quarterback. Both Darnold and Wilson were considered massive draft busts. Darnold has enjoyed great success as the starter with the Minnesota Vikings, while Wilson is a backup in Denver.
You could argue that Rodgers is surrounded by better weapons than his predecessors, too. The Jets have an excellent wide receiver duo in Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson as well as an explosive playmaker at running back in Breece Hall.
Obviously, Rodgers is far from the only problem in New York. The ugly stat about his winning percentage is just a reminder that he has not been a solution.
