The Pittsburgh Steelers player who went viral for accidentally tackling Aaron Rodgers during Thursday’s game certainly does not have any regrets over the incident.

Steelers tackle Broderick Jones accidentally tackled Rodgers to the ground after the Steelers quarterback threw a go-ahead touchdown with 2:21 remaining in the fourth quarter against the Cincinnati Bengals. Rodgers’ angry reaction caused the video to go viral and prompted a lot of jokes about how the quarterback had a new least favorite teammate.

Jones admitted Monday that could not be further from the truth. In fact, he would like the chance to tackle his quarterback again.

“We’re still joking about it. He was a little mad, but it’s alright. It’s football,” Jones said. “He told me, ‘don’t lose the fire.’ I told him the same. We shall see on Sunday. If he throws another touchdown, I might tackle him again.”

#Steelers LT Broderick Jones explained his viral TD celebration/tackle of QB Aaron Rodgers:

Jones obviously was not trying to take Rodgers down, not that it mattered to the quarterback in that moment. The tackle was just excited, though the Bengals rallied to win the game in the final two minutes.

Rodgers is known for holding his teammates accountable and being very demonstrative in doing so. He can probably forgive this one considering the circumstances.
