Adam Sandler now appears to be rooting for a different team in the AFC East.
The legendary actor Sandler was in attendance during Super Bowl LX on Sunday between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. But Sandler surprised many fans by showing up to the game … rocking a Patriots logo on his hat.
NBC’s Mike Tirico even noted on the broadcast that Sandler appeared to be rooting for New England. Take a look.

Social media users quickly let Sandler hear it for supposedly being a fake fan. Many posts noted that Sandler had a long and well-documented history of supporting the New York Jets instead.
Thinking about Jets fans today:

Indeed, Sandler is a New York City native who has openly professed his support for the Jets on several different occasions over the years. He has referenced the Jets in many of his films and even had then-Jets coach Rex Ryan appear in his 2012 movie “That’s My Boy.” At the Super Bowl last year, Sandler was also in attendance and doing his best to rep the Jets.

It is entirely possible that Sandler was simply wearing a generic Super Bowl LX hat with the logo of both teams on it and just fell victim there to an ill-timed camera angle. But that did not stop social media from coming for Sandler just like they came for fellow actor Rob Lowe and his supposed fake fandom during the 2025 MLB World Series.
