Cincinnati Reds fans were not happy with Rob Lowe after he conspicuously switched allegiances this postseason.
The Hollywood actor was spotted in the crowd during the Reds’ Wild Card Game 1 against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. Lowe was seen sporting a hat that commemorated the Dodgers’ World Series win last season.
When Shohei Ohtani hit a home run to lead off the bottom of the first inning, Lowe was celebrating with the legion of fans in the stands.

The moment struck a nerve with Reds fans, who know Lowe as a supporter of Cincinnati’s baseball club. The 61-year-old grew up in Dayton and had previously been very vocal about his fandom, kick-started by the “Big Red Machine” era during the 1970s. Lowe even attended a game during the 1972 World Series, which the Reds lost to the Oakland Athletics.
Fans on social media made sure to call Lowe out for his betrayal of the Reds.

Watching the Reds game and they show Rob Lowe, who grew up in Dayton, OH, celebrating a Dodgers home run. Brutal.

It’s one thing to be exposed as a bandwagon fan among your close circle of friends. It’s another for you to be caught red-handed on national television.
Tuesday’s moment was yet another chapter in Lowe’s book of strange connections to the sports world. Many have pointed out his uncanny resemblance to Los Angeles Lakers executive Rob Pelinka. Fans have also clowned Lowe in the past for wearing an unusual cap to an NFL game.
