Adrian Peterson works out with Jameis Winston, gets Dirk Koetter’s attention

Adrian Peterson is still searching for a new home, and he had to have known working out with Jameis Winston would trigger speculation that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be interested in the veteran running back.

On Tuesday, Winston’s personal quarterback coach George Whitfield shared a photo on Instagram of himself posing with Peterson, Winston and strength and conditioning coach Tim Grover in Houston. Whitfield praised Peterson for training “like a rookie trying to make a team.”

Learned the extremes that Michael & Kobe were willing to go from arguably the greatest trainer of all time from Tim Grover. Watched a proud, high-powered All-Star (Adrian Peterson) train like a rookie trying to make a team. Most of all, witnessed a young 22 yr old quarterback lead a group of NFL vets like a 5-star general. Today was a DAY! #HowCoolIsThis #SlayOn

Whitefield later shared a photo of himself, Peterson, Winston and Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans hanging out with DeSean Jackson and James Harden after Tuesday’s Houston Rockets game.

On Wednesday, Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter was asked about the photos. He said he was surprised to see Winston and Peterson working together.

“I’ve seen Adrian Peterson many times — one of the best running backs to ever play,” Koetter said, according to Jenna Laine of ESPN.com. “I’m anxious to talk to Jameis and ask him about how his workouts went.”

Interestingly enough, Tampa Bay running back Doug Martin will be suspended for the first three games of the 2017 season as he serves the remainder of a four-game PED ban that was issued in Week 17 last year. Does that mean the Bucs have room for Peterson? Recent reports have made it seem like teams are not all that interested in A.P., but the thought is certainly intriguing.
