AJ Brown throws shade at Eagles’ offense

The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-0, but they are not quite humming on all cylinders. Wide receiver AJ Brown knows it, too.

Brown threw some shade at the Eagles’ offense Monday, one day after the Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 20-17 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. The Eagles were limited to 24 points and 302 total yards in their season opener against the Dallas Cowboys as well.

Brown was asked about the Eagles’ offensive efficiency, and he did not exactly give a stock answer.

“The goal is to win the game, no matter what that looks like,” Brown said. “The reason why people may talk about it is they want to know if it can be sustained throughout the season. I think that’s fair. I think it’s a fair thing to talk about.”

Brown’s role in the offense has also been the subject of some questions. He was targeted just once in Week 1, though he downplayed the significance of that. However, he was held to a modest 27 yards on five catches in Week 2.

The wide receiver is known to be very competitive, and as long as the Eagles are winning, the complaints should not be too loud. However, it is an ongoing theme that the Eagles’ offense has not been playing up to its capabilities, even dating back to the end of last season. If the winning stops, things could get tense again.
