Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green does not appear that close to returning from his foot injury.
Green, who suffered torn ankle ligaments in a late July practice, is still in a walking boot, according to Geoff Hobson of the team’s official website.

In other words, Green won’t be playing in Week 1. The Bengals did not place Green on injured reserve, which means they expect him back fairly early in the season, but not to start it.
The 31-year-old receiver played in only nine games in 2018 due to a foot injury.
The original prognosis on Green was to keep him out as late as the start of October. That’s still another month away, so it may be a few weeks before we see Green on the field.
