Watch: Alex Smith throws ugly 101-yard pick-six
Alex Smith put the Washington Redskins in a bad spot against the Houston Texans with an ugly 101-yard pick-six on Sunday.
Washington was in the red zone trailing 10-7 in the second quarter. They had a 3rd-and-goal and seemed likely to get points on the possession and at least tie the game. Instead, Smith threw into the end zone and was intercepted by Justin Reid, who returned the ball the other direction 101 yards for a touchdown to make it 17-7.

Somewhat unbelievably, Smith was also intercepted on the team’s next possession. He was bailed out by a missed field goal and lucky it didn’t cost him points.
