WR Andre Roberts rips Jets for ‘shady’ contract negotiations
Andre Roberts ripped the New York Jets for engaging in what he said was “shady” contract negotiations.
Roberts, who was an All-Pro special teamer last season, says he was surprised the Jets chose to let him go. According to the New York Daily News’ Manish Mehta, the Jets offered Roberts a team-friendly deal and didn’t really negotiate from there.
Jets All-Pro returner Andre Roberts clearly not happy with how negotiations went with NYJ…
My understanding is that they made an initial team-friendly offer… and then essentially went dark rather than truly negotiate. https://t.co/WUsY3ll9Uc

It sounds like the Jets didn’t make a true effort to retain Roberts. He’s now with Buffalo and will have two chances per season to make the Jets pay.
Roberts had a kickoff and punt return for a touchdown last season. He led the league with 1,174 kickoff return yards.
