Anthony Barr to remain with Vikings after reportedly agreeing to deal with Jets
The New York Jets appeared to have made a major addition to their linebacker corps on Monday when they agreed to a deal with Anthony Barr, but those plans drastically changed overnight.
According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Barr has decided to remain with the Minnesota Vikings after verbally agreeing to sign with the Jets.
Plot twist! LB Anthony Barr has decided to agree to terms to remain with the #Vikings, sources say. He will not be a member of the #Jets after all.

Albert Breer of The MMQB adds that Barr informed the Jets on Monday that he needed to sleep on his decision after the Vikings upped their offer.
Barr committed to the Jets last night, then told them he had to sleep on it. Vikings upped their offer. Barr slept on it. And here we are. https://t.co/yJ0bf79hN2

The good news for Jets fans is that their team landed another star linebacker on Tuesday, but getting burned by a free agent like that has to sting. Barr, a former first-round pick, has been one of the better linebackers in football during his five seasons in Minnesota. It’s no surprise the Vikings made a late push to keep him, and it obviously paid off.
