Anthony Davis retires from NFL again
The Anthony Davis retirement saga took yet another turn on Monday as it was reported that the offensive lineman informed the San Francisco 49ers that he has retired again.
Davis was a first-round pick by the 49ers out of Rutgers in 2010 and had a successful career as a tackle with the 49ers. He caught many off guard by announcing retirement plans prior to the 2015 season, saying he wanted to give time for his brain and body to heal. He had suffered his first career concussion during the 2014 season, which caused him to miss multiple games.
After sitting out last season, Davis decided to return to football for 2016. However, reports just before the season began said Davis was considering retirement again.
Apparently the information from those reports were accurate, because Davis has decided to walk away from the game again. He had missed the past two weeks with a concussion and sent the following tweet Monday:
I just want my time and mind intact, when you lose em both, you can't buy em back.
