Antonio Brown does not apologize for sideline temper tantrum

Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown handled himself in an incredibly unprofessional manner at one point during his team’s win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, but the Pittsburgh Steelers receiver has no regrets over the incident.

Brown got wide open over the middle of the field for what would have been a 64-yard touchdown in the first half, but Ben Roethlisberger never saw him. Following the play, Brown was seen on the sideline kicking a water cooler and slapping a coach’s hand away from him. He said after the game that he had no regrets.

“It’s like a kid being excited for Christmas,” Brown told reporters, per Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “You work on it. You’re expecting that play on that day. Sometimes it doesn’t work out. You move on.

“I’m passionate about the game. Anytime you work as hard and a play doesn’t go the way you wanted, you get frustrated.”

Some would say it’s convenient for Brown to want to move on so quickly, because the way he acted was a pretty bad look. Still, the star receiver’s teammates downplayed the outburst and said it was not a distraction.

“A.B. is a playmaker,” Ben Roethlisberger said. “Sometimes there are not enough footballs to go around to everybody. A.B. is very passionate about wanting to help this team and take us to the next level. That’s nothing more than a competitor wanting the ball every single play.”

While Brown’s temper tantrum was insignificant compared to his infamous locker room video incident from last year, it was another example that he can use poor judgment at times. Even if he doesn’t apologize publicly, we’d be surprised if he didn’t address the incident with the team.
