The Las Vegas Raiders are preparing for their Week 16 game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas, and their preparations include being ready to defend trick plays.
Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce spoke with the media on Wednesday and was asked about defending against Kansas City’s gadget plays. Pierce said you can’t, so the best thing you can do is hit them in the mouth.
“You can’t. (They) have a million of them. … We saw the ring around the rosie deal last year. All fun & games … that’s cool,” Pierce said.

“But at some point, the best way to stop a trick play is to do what? Hit ‘em in the mouth.”
Asked Pierce how Raiders prepare for Chiefs' trick plays:

The old Mike Tyson gameplan. Hit ’em in the mouth and that will end the fun and games.
Last season, the Chiefs used a carousel trick play against the Raiders. KC has also been known to use formations from the 1940s or so. They’ll throw anything and everything they can come up with at you.
The Raiders are 6-8 but just exploded for 63 points in a win over the Chargers on Thursday night in Week 15. The Chiefs are 9-5 and coming off a win over the Patriots. KC has gone 3-4 over their last seven games.
