Arian Foster to undergo surgery for ‘severe groin injury’
The Houston Texans will begin the 2015 regular season without their best offensive player, as Arian Foster suffered a groin injury on Tuesday that will require surgery.
According to John McClain of The Houston Chronicle, Foster went down with a “severe groin injury” at practice, but he is not expected to miss the entire season. However, early indications are that Foster is going to miss several weeks.
Foster has battled a number of injuries over the past two seasons, but he bounced back and was a workhorse once again for the Texans in 2014. After rushing for just 542 yards on 141 carries in 2013, Foster racked up 1,246 yards on the ground and scored eight rushing touchdowns last season. He also added five receiving touchdowns and averaged an impressive 4.8 yards per carry. Heck, Foster even tossed a touchdown pass on this nifty play.
It goes without saying that Foster’s injury is terrible news for the Texans.
