Arizona Cardinals’ Twitter account trolls Stephen A Smith in response to criticism
The Arizona Cardinals’ official Twitter account did not take it lying down when ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith was critical of their coaching hire.
Smith ripped the Cardinals’ decision to hire Kliff Kingsbury as head coach and posted a video of himself on his radio show roasting the move. The Cardinals struck back by calling out Smith over a botched game preview a month ago.
We thought you would be in a good mood since the Chargers activated Hunter Henry this week. https://t.co/lkVzzDwEa2

For context, the Cardinals are alluding to a hilarious segment on ESPN when Smith bumbled his way through a preview of the Chiefs-Chargers game, in which he made numerous factual errors. Perhaps most infamously, he shared his excitement to see Hunter Henry play in the game despite the fact that the Chargers’ tight end hadn’t played all season due to injury.
Kingsbury may or may not turn out to be a good hire for Arizona, but it’s clear for this and from other interactions that Smith’s credibility in NFL circles is shot. Everyone can just fire back with something like this.
