Arthur Jones has died at the age of 39, we learned on Friday. Jones played 64 games in the NFL from 2010-2017 and won a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens.

A defensive end out of Syracuse, Jones had 173 career tackles and 10 career sacks. He played with the Ravens, Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins, and retired after the 2017 season.

Jones received some nice tributes after the news of his death was announced by the Ravens.

Arthur Jones was one of my favorite guys on the Ravens' Super Bowl XLVII team. He was always smiling.

Arthur was a very good player (he had a sack and fumble recovery in the Super Bowl), but he was an even better person. 😞 https://t.co/ztRpInIC8l

This is just awful.

Arthur Jones was one of my favourite Ravens and a MASSIVE piece of that SB DL beside Haloti Ngata.

I was sad to learn of the passing of Arthur Jones (former Ravens player) and older brother of UFC MMA legend Jon Jones! @JonnyBones Whenever I needed to interview Jon Jones, Arthur would help me out and I am so grateful for him and his entire family. In heaven with his mom! pic.twitter.com/2uLb0PQ1TY

RIP Arthur Jones, gone way too soon.

I remember meeting him with some of my family friends many years ago now. Such a nice and friendly man. Took the time out of his day to talk to strangers and made their day.

Oh my god. I feel so awful for his family. I met him years ago. He was the kindest person, saw my ravens hat and was so excited. He took a picture with me. An absolute beautiful human being. The @Ravens and the @CuseFootball lost a LEGEND today. I'm heartbroken.

Arthur Jones was the oldest in a family of professional athletes that also includes MMA star Jon Jones and former NFL defensive end Chandler Jones. He had attended Jon’s fight against Stipe Miocic in November that Jon won via TKO.

Prior to going to Syracuse to play football, Arthur was a two-time state champion wrestler in high school in New York.
