The Chicago Bears think they got robbed by some bad officiating at the end of their 20-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Soldier Field.
Bears coach Matt Eberflus said Monday that the team plans to submit video of the final play of the game to the league offices. Eberflus argued that the Packers were “on our long snapper,” and that a penalty should have been called on the play.

Long snappers are generally protected as defenseless players by NFL rules until they can get their heads up and begin blocking. In this instance, Bears long snapper Scott Daly did appear to have Packers players on him before he could do that. On the other hand, such a call is purely subjective, and even the Bears likely know that the league office won’t be able to do much about this.
The Packers, meanwhile, seemingly had this planned to perfection. Eberflus and the Bears just needed to be stronger in this spot, no matter what the referees did.
