Bears optimistic that Mitchell Trubisky will return Sunday
The Chicago Bears aren’t ready to fully commit to it, but it sounds increasingly likely that quarterback Mitchell Trubisky will be back under center Sunday.
Coach Matt Nagy said Wednesday that, while he needs to see more, he was optimistic that Trubisky would be ready to return from his shoulder injury for Sunday night’s matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.
Asked whether Chicago QB Mitchell Trubisky would be able to return from his shoulder injury for Sunday night’s game vs. the Rams, Bears’ HC Matt Nagy said he and his team “feel strong that he will play but I gotta see more." But the signs are encouraging.

Trubisky did not play against the New York Giants, which was expected to lead to him being able to play this week in a potential playoff preview. The team will want to make sure he’s healthy and performing at full strength ahead of the playoffs, as the sprained AC joint he’s dealing with is the type of injury that can linger.
