Odell Beckham Jr.’s ankle injury made for some very strange viewing for those watching the New York Giants’ preseason game on ESPN, but coach Ben McAdoo says the Giants did the best they could.
Beckham sprained his ankle during Monday’s preseason game against the Cleveland Browns, and ESPN cameras caught the star wide receiver hunched over in pain in the tunnel while receiving no medical attention. Beckham was then allowed to return to the sideline for the second half with only a light wrap on the ankle.
McAdoo downplayed concerns over both the injury itself and the response to it.

“No regrets, no,” McAdoo said when asked about the response to the injury, via James Kratch of NJ.com.
As for how soon Beckham will be back, McAdoo was equally evasive.
“He’s got an ankle. He’s in there getting treatment,” McAdoo said. “We’re just taking it day by day.”
One report indicated that Beckham may miss the start of the season. It doesn’t sound like we’ll be getting confirmation on that from McAdoo anytime soon.
